Hearing Assessment - Children 4 Years and Above
Clear Ears Perth offers hearing assessments for children aged 4 years and over in a supportive, child-friendly environment. This 20-minute appointment may include a video otoscope ear examination, middle ear function testing, and audiometry using air and bone conduction to assess your child’s hearing. Before-school, after-school, and weekend appointments are available to help make testing convenient for families.
Kids Middle Ear Assessments
Clear Ears Perth offers an Ear Health Screen that includes video otoscopy and tympanometry, a simple, non-invasive test used to assess middle ear function. This service is particularly suited to children who are prone to middle ear fluid (glue ear) or who have grommets, where monitoring whether they are patent and functioning may be helpful.
Tympanometry may assist in identifying features consistent with common middle ear conditions, including fluid, Eustachian tube dysfunction, and grommet function. This screen provides useful information about middle ear health and can help guide whether further assessment or medical review may be appropriate.
