Settle The Debate: Check Your Hearing at Clear Ears Perth

An Easy Hearing Check for Peace of Mind

At Clear Ears Perth, many people visit us because they’re experiencing blocked ears, muffled hearing, or discomfort caused by ear wax. While ear wax build-up is very common, it’s not always the reason for hearing difficulties. That’s why our clinics now offer full audiological hearing assessments performed by qualified audiologists, allowing us to properly investigate your hearing if ear wax is not the cause. The hearing assessments are avialable in all three of our clinics - Balcatta, Attadale and Midland.

If you’ve been wondering if you are hearing clearly or if your loved ones have been telling you to “turn down the volume,” this hearing assessment can settle the debate! It’s fast, easy, costs $110 and a great first step toward understanding your hearing needs in 20 minutes of your time. You can also bundle your hearing assessment with ear wax microsuction for $150.

Ear Wax Removal and Hearing Test Options

Our appointments are designed to be simple and transparent, with clear pricing depending on what your ears need on the day.

Ear Wax Removal Bundle – $150

Our Ear Wax Removal Bundle includes:

  • A full ear examination by an audiologist

  • Microsuction ear wax removal if wax is present

  • Assessment of your ear canal and eardrum health

Microsuction is widely regarded as the safest and most precise method of ear wax removal, allowing the audiologist to remove wax under direct vision without water or syringing.

This option is ideal if you are experiencing symptoms such as:

  • Blocked or muffled hearing

  • Ear pressure or fullness

  • Itchy ears

  • Whistling hearing aids

  • Sudden hearing changes

If ear wax is the cause of your symptoms, removal often provides instant relief and improved hearing.

Comprehensive Hearing Test – $110

If you are concerned about your hearing or want a professional check, we also offer full audiological hearing assessments for $110.

A comprehensive hearing test may include:

  • A hearing health history

  • Visual examination of your ear (via otoscopy or video-otoscopy)

  • Pure tone audiometry to measure hearing thresholds (including Bone Conduction)

  • Tympanometry - a middle ear function test

  • Results explained by your audiologist

This provides a clinical assessment of your hearing ability and helps identify any signs of hearing loss or other ear-related conditions.

If No Ear Wax Is Found – Add a Hearing Test for $55

Sometimes patients attend expecting ear wax to be the problem, but during examination we find no ear wax blockage present.

In these cases, we offer a same-day comprehensive hearing test for just $55 (half the normal price). This allows us to immediately investigate your symptoms to ensure you leave your appointment with answers and a clear understanding of your ear and hearing health.

Unbiased, Independent Hearing Advice

Clear Ears Perth is not a hearing aid retail clinic, which means our audiologists are not selling hearing devices during your appointment.

Because of this, we are able to provide independent and unbiased advice about your hearing health. Our focus is simply to assess your ears, identify the cause of your symptoms, and explain your results clearly.

If your hearing assessment shows that hearing rehabilitation may be beneficial, we can provide a referral to a trusted audiologist or hearing clinic who can discuss appropriate management options with you.
